FAQs

Everything to know about boarding your dog at Breezy Acres Kennels.

  • No, we are a dog boarding facility.

  • Yes! We encourage all new clients to tour our facilities. Please call (513) 474-2222 or email info@breezyacres.com to arrange a time. Please note that Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays are our busiest days, and not ideal for an uninterrupted tour.

  • Proof of the following vaccinations are required to board: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHLP), and Bordetella (kennel cough).

Shot records may be emailed to info@breezyacres.com or faxed to 1-866-745-9436. Dogs arriving without proof of all required vaccinations will not be allowed to board.

  • Though Ohio does not require inspection or licensing for boarding kennels (as opposed to breeding kennels), the Anderson Township Fire Department does check that our facilities are up to code and that all smoke/gas detectors and fire extinguishers are in good working order. Breezy Acres is not, nor ever has been, a breeding kennel.

  • Yes! We will administer medications for you at no extra charge. If your dog has been recently sick, suffers from a chronic illness or is elderly, we ask that you please consult your vet prior to bringing them to ensure they are well enough for a boarding kennel stay.

  • Breezy Acres does not contract with any one particular vet. When you register for your dog’s first stay, we will ask for your vet's name and will contact both you and your vet's emergency number should we have any health concerns. If we cannot reach you, we reserve the right to seek medical attention for your pet at your expense.

  • Routines for each dog vary based on specific instructions from their owner, weather and purchased services such as trail hikes or walks. During your dog's stay, we will ensure on a daily basis that:

    • They have as much outdoor time as the weather will safely allow.

    • Their indoor space is kept clean and free of waste. All runs are thoroughly cleaned between occupancies.

    • They are provided fresh water in their own bowl refilled throughout the day.

    • They are fed the food of your choice according to the schedule you have indicated.

    • They are provided any required medications.

    • They are provided any scheduled services you have requested.

    • They are checked on throughout the day, including at bedtime (we live on the premises).

    • Above all, they are treated respectfully and affectionately.

  • You may, though if they roughhouse or if we feel it may pose some risk to their safety or our ability to take care of them, we reserve the option of giving them each their own run. Dogs who board in the same run are provided a discounted boarding rate.

  • No. For your dog's safety, we do not allow interactions with other customer’s dogs during their stay. We do offer services such as walks and trail hikes, during which they get extra exercise and socializing time with us.

  • You are encouraged to bring whatever food your dog’s digestive system is accustomed to. We will provide food at no extra charge if you do not choose to bring your own (Purina Lamb and Rice).

  • Yes! Please make sure bedding is inexpensive and machine washable. We will make every effort to clean toys or bedding that become soiled during your dog’s stay but depending on the timing of your pickup, this may not always be possible. Items we are unable to clean will be placed in a clear plastic bag for easy transportation. If your dog chews or soils their bedding, we will remove it from their run.
